Eastmill Federal Credit Union has come along way since its first organizational meeting on May 13, 1954. Credit Unions are unique in the financial world as not-for-profit institutions. Members own and direct the credit union. These members are dedicated to the credit union motto, “Not for charity, not for profit, but for service.”
Eastmill Federal Credit Union now has two convenient locations. The main office is located in East Millinocket. The branch office is in Patten. Credit Unions are chartered by groups of people having a common bond. The field of membership for Eastmill Federal Credit Union includes those individuals who work at Katahdin Paper Company in East Millinocket. Also included are those who reside, work, worship or attend school in Penobscot County, Sherman, Stacyville, Island Falls and Patten. All relatives of these common bonds are also included.
